Begin where you are

There's more in you.

Our introductory TaiJi experience welcomes newcomers into foundational movement, balance, relaxed coordination, and attentive practice. Warm chai is part of the welcome, not a requirement to participate.

Whether you found us through a community member or simply around Pittsburgh, you're welcome in the same introductory community. Additional community classes may be added if interest supports them.

Your four-week introduction

Four sessions. A meaningful beginning.

Join us once a week for four weeks. Each introductory class has a specific, predetermined lesson format designed to help you learn the foundations without being overwhelmed.

No prior experience required. Small groups allow individual attention. We aim for around ten participants per cohort, with fourteen as the maximum.

When does class meet? We're gathering scheduling preferences from prospective participants before confirming the introductory time. Your preferred day and time matter.

What happens afterward? Continue into ongoing TaiJi forms at your own pace. The separate traditional TaiJi class is available to students who specifically want more intensive traditional study.

Good to know

Questions before you begin?

Do I need experience? No. The introduction is designed for newcomers.

Do participants from different communities need separate registration? No. Everyone can join the same introductory cohort; we may add a dedicated group if demand warrants it.

Will I be enrolled in ongoing classes automatically? No. You decide whether to continue after the introduction.

Is traditional training the same thing? No. Our traditional Shaolin and traditional TaiJi classes are separate, more intensive training paths.

What should I wear? Comfortable clothing that allows movement. We'll provide studio footwear guidance before your first class.
